During my 22 years of instruction at Lassen College in Susanville, California, I have taught various armorer courses to hundreds of law enforcement personnel. Officers from as far away as Australia and Scotland have traveled to Susanville to attend classes.

The courses I teach vary greatly and include instruction on basic gunsmithing, single and double action auto pistols, all types counter-sniper rifles, all types double action revolvers, full autos, and assembly of gas operated guns.

I have taught California Department of Corrections staff, Arizona Department of Corrections staff, as well as armorers employed by the Federal Correctional System.

The Low Light Carbine class started at dusk on day two. We started with safety, of course. After some specific instruction on range rules for this night shoot Steve demonstrated methods of holding and using hand held lights with carbines

Fourteen students attended two days of defensive shooting classes taught by Steve Fisher of Michigan Defensive Firearms Institute. MDFI was invited by Tucson Guns and Western Artifacts, a gun store on Tucsons East Side. The classes were held north of Tucson at the Pima Pistol Club Shooting Range. The two days were divided into four parts, day one was Defensive Pistol Level Two, followed by a Low Light Pistol Class in the evening. Day Two was Defensive Carbine Level Two followed by an full evening of Low Light Carbine instruction. All the students learned a lot and skills improved. Here are four reviews of the two days of training along with some links and info on the instructors and hosts. If these reviews make you curious about firearms training, do some research and plan to attend a class. Firearms training is great fun, and it could possibly save your life one day

After a full day of defensive pistol instruction we started low light / night shooting tactics and practice. Of course it is difficult to take photographs at night, but one of the students let the photographer use a night vision device to take some of (the green) photos of the students shooting at night
